Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - WDW

Dubbed "The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness," Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was the second mountain to rise above the Magic Kingdom in Florida, and at 197 feet above sea level was, for a long time, the tallest "mountain" at Walt Disney World. Guests board runaway mine trains and take a trip through scenery reminiscent of Arizona's Monument Valley.
Lifthill comments: While it is fun, Big Thunder Mountain often times has longer lines than what the ride experience really warrants. Deceivingly tall, the actual track of the coaster never gets close to the peak of the mountain, and the longest drop is made to seem rather gradual thanks to a long curve. Our recommendation: take advantage of the under-visited Country Bear Jamboree, which is right around the corner from Big thunder and Splash Mountain, while waiting on your Fastpass to become active — and avoid any stand-by line longer than 10 minutes for this ride, as the queue can be excruciatingly hot.
