Expedition Everest

The newest addition to Disney's Animal Kingdom, Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain stands tall at just under 200 feet, becoming the second "icon" for the park along with the Tree of Life. Along with the heavy theming of the mountain and queue, the ride also features video displays, audio effects, and the most ambitious animatronic ever built by Disney — the Yeti.

Lifthill comments: I've been anxiously waiting to ride this since it was first announced. I got my chance several weeks ago during the public soft-opening of the ride and it was everything I expected. The backwards portion of the ride is unexpected and an absolute blast through the inside of the mountain, while the drop offers a decent thrill and some nice g-force at the bottom turn. The highlight of the ride is definitely the very short encounter with the Yeti animatronic, which moves faster than what seems possible for a figure of its size. Disney claims that the potential force of the figure is more instantaneous power than a 747-400 airliner, and it shows. A must-see attraction for all roller-coaster, audio animatronic, and Disney buffs.
