Vortex
Filed under Roller Coasters on Mar 1, 2006

Vortex is Kings Island's big, looping steel coaster. Custom-designed for the park, it features six inversions, and was the first coaster in the world to do so. It features a distinctive blue-and-orange paint job, and sits towards the back left corner of the park.
Lifthill comments: Vortex was designed for the plot of land it sits on, and for the most part it shows. Although it has gotten a little rough in recent years, it is still the only traditional looping coaster in the park, and the placement of its six inversions — especially the first vertical loop — still make for some great riding.
